Beatriz Caiza, an Indigenous beadwork artist from the Ecuadorian Amazon, is visiting Vancouver with a powerful message on sustainability and Indigenous rights. She will lead Amazonian beading workshops in the Kichwa style and share her knowledge of the colors, designs, and sacred beading practices from her jungle community. Participants will make their own beaded bracelets, necklaces, or earrings to take home.

Workshop proceeds will go to the Amazanga community’s campaign to protect their ancestral territories. No experience is necessary, and the workshop fee includes all materials. All ages welcome, children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Each workshop will focus on different beading techniques; check out our facebook page for upcoming course descriptions.

($50 per class payment in cash only upon arrival)

Classes will be held every Saturday and Sunday
