Burgoo serves up warming comfort food in the casual, welcoming atmosphere of four easy-to-get-to restaurants. All four locations are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Although the menu samples comfort food from around the world, most items are either classified as soups, salads, sandwiches, starters, or (and this is where Burgoo really shines) bistro classics.
The bistro classics section of the menu is where you will find favourites like the Kentucky burgoo (slow-roasted meats, lima beans, corn, tomatoes, okra, and cabbage served over garlic mashed potatoes or biscuits) and the Beef Bourguignon (traditionally prepared with red wine braised beef, caramelized pearl onions, carrots and mushroom). If you still have room at the end of your meal, Burgoo dessert specialties include a sticky toffee pudding and a hot chocolate chili pot.
Burgoo has won several awards, including the Georgia Straight’s Golden Plate Award.
