Banana Leaf serves up Malaysian cuisine from five convenient locations in Vancouver. All three Banana Leaf restaurants are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. The appetizer menu includes favourites like the chicken, beef, pork, or lamb satays served with a spicy peanut sauce and the hot and sour soup. The main menu highlights dishes like the curry boneless chicken (simmered in a creamy coconut milk and lemongrass sauce), the mee goreng (fried egg noodles with beef, egg, shrimp, tomato, bean sprouts, and tofu), and the sambal green beans (stir-fried green beans, shrimp, and tomato seasoned with chili and garlic). Most dishes can be made mild, spicy, or anywhere in between. Banana Leaf also offers set menus suitable for groups of two or six people, which offer an ideal opportunity to sample many of their dishes. These set menus will usually include appetizers, mains, and a dessert. Banana Leaf has won the Georgia Straight’s Golden Plate Award for Best Southeast Asian.
