2183 W. 4th, Vancouver BC, Canada
Since opening its doors in 1985, Bishop's restaurant has become one of Vancouver's premier dining destinations for Pacific Northwest cuisine. Open seven days a week for dinner service, John Bishop's eponymous restaurant offers an intimate (45 seat) fine dining environment in the heart of Kitsilano.
Long-time maitre'd Abel Jacinto and executive chef Ron Shaw oversee an innovative European-inspired West Coast-tasting menu that includes fresh, locally sourced ingredients such as Sloping Hill pork terrine, Lois Lake steelhead trout, and Pitt Meadows beef tenderloin, all accompanied by an extensive global wine list. John Bishop’s cooking has been enjoyed by movie stars and heads of state alike, including Boris Yeltsin and Bill Clinton.
The restaurant has also been the recipient of numerous awards including the Georgia Straight’s Golden Plates and Best of Vancouver Awards. In addition, John Bishop received the Govenor General's Award in Celebration of the Nation's Table in 2010.
