      This weekend is absolutely packed. 

      While we’re sure a good portion of Vancouverites are heading east to Merritt for Bass Coast, or even further east for the first weekend of the Calgary Stampede, there are still plenty of awesome events happening right here in Vancouver to fill up your calendar. 

      Anyone who religiously visits the Straight’s website (that’s you, right? It better be) knows that Khatsahlano is taking over Kits this Saturday, but if that’s not exactly your vibe, we’ve got a list of five more picks to check out this Saturday and Sunday. 

      Brock House Society Summer Fair

      Check out the summer fair to browse needlecrafts, painted porcelain, books, jams/jellies/preserves, jewellery and vintage accessories, gifts, games, art supplies, woodwork, and more. Attendees can also pop by the gardening section to have all their burning plant questions answered.

      Oakberry West Broadway opening 

      The Brazilian acai bowl spot is having the grand opening of its first of five planned Vancouver locations in Kitsilano on Saturday, and is offering a free bowl to the first 50 customers through its door starting at 8am.

      Dwi Album Release Show

      Maple Ridge’s own dwi is releasing a new album Zoo Life and will be celebrating by performing with guests Noble Son and Zack Gray at the Fox Cabaret.
