Following a fatal single-vehicle collision in B.C. on the weekend, another single-vehicle crash, that also resulted in death, took place this morning.

Around 9:40 a.m. today (July 19), a single vehicle collision took place in the westbound lanes of Highway 1 near Bradner Road in Abbotsford.

B.C. Highway Patrol, the Abbotsford Police Department, and Emergency Services responded to the incident.

B.C. Highway Patrol Chilliwack is leading an investigation, involving the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service and the B.C. Coroners’ Service, but the cause of the crash is currently undetermined. Police did confirm, however, that the sole occupant of the vehicle has died.

As the investigation continues on, westbound travel on Highway 1 will be impacted. Only one westbound lane is open for traffic. For update, visit the DriveBC website or social media.

No further details are being released at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident, including dashcam video, is asked to contact B.C. Highway Patrol Chilliwack at 604-702-4039.

In a separate incident on July 17, a single-vehicle rollover occurred on the Coquihalla Highway, between Merritt and Hope, B.C. In that collision, four people were injured and a female senior died.
