How to get your pup’s photo on a four-pack of Yellow Dog beer

Always dreamed of putting your pooch’s mug on a can of beer? Unless you’re a home brewer, now’s probably your best chance.
From September 5 to the 24, the BC SPCA and Yellow Dog Brewing are teaming up to bring back the Make My Pet a Yellow Dog Brewing Star fundraising contest. Animal lovers will compete by raising much-needed funds for the BC SPCA.
Fundraisers will aim for the top four spots to feature their pet on a four-pack of limited-edition Yellow Dog Brewing beer. The first three spots go to the top fundraisers, and the third is awarded through a draw for all “paw-rents” who raise at least $100 for the BC SPCA.
“It’s a wonderful way to share your cherished pet with the world,” says Melinda Coghill, founder and owner of Yellow Dog Brewing, in a press release. “Every donation you raise in their name will help animals in your community and across BC.”
The beer will be sold across the province, with funds from the contest supporting the work of the BC SPCA and supporting over 118,000 animals annually.
“People love the idea of having their pet’s face on the cans, and the entire province of BC really got behind us,” says Coghill. “We can’t wait to honour the winning animals with a place on our beer cans for the 2023 edition.”
The contest runs until September 24 at 8pm and is open to people ages 19 and up.
