Mark Your Calendar: The PNE Winter Fair returns for the holidays

If you’ve ever wondered when the countdown to the holidays really begins, then the number of festive press releases blanketing our inbox like a flurry of fresh snow strongly suggests it’s now. Happy holidays, everyone!

Festive family fun returns with the PNE’s annual Winter Fair. The best parts of the summer fair are translated for a winter crowd, with extra seasonal additions for that holiday flair.

Running on December 8, 9, and then between December 14 and 23, the PNE presents a mix of indoor and outdoor activities to keep you busy no matter what the Vancouver weather has in store.

In the open air, check out the string-lights that come to life after dark with synchronized twinkling, or the PNE Express Train that takes you through the displays. Seasonal food and drinks like [can we list one thing] are up for purchase alongside Fair staples like mini donuts, and the threat of “roving festive entertainment” is sure to keep you on your toes as you try to escape (or encounter) robots and acrobats.

Indoors, the Pond at the Agrodome is transformed into a wintry ice rink, complete with ice bumper cars for extra chaos. Find Santa Claus with an interactive puzzle-filled journey, wander the indoor stalls of the holiday market, or relax in the winter chalet with festive food and live seasonal music.

For more structured entertainment, there are also two nightly performances of figure skating spectacle The Nutcracker on Ice at the Pacific Coliseum as well as family-friendly stage show Magic of Santa Holiday Musical
