These are scary times, no doubt, but as a famous politician once said--or should have, anyway--you have to "fight fear with fear".

So get ready to be scared silly!

The PNE has just announced its latest Halloween-themed event, and it's the cutesy titled Slayland: Night of a Thousand Screams.

Running October 9 to 31, from 6 to 11 pm, Slayland will feature 20 fear-inducing rides, including the Atmosfear, the Wooden Roller Coaster, and the Beast. Newly named for this year are the Scary-Go Round, the Murder Hornet Express, and the Skeleton Swinger.

"The haunted houses won’t be open," reads the PNE press release, "but the park will be possessed with terrifying décor and a horror-themed outdoor walk-thru experience that pays its respects to your favourite haunts of the past. Since there will be no haunted houses, this is also the first time that children under 13 will be allowed, based on parental discretion (it is still not recommended for children under the age of eight)."

Face coverings will be required in all queue lines and on rides, and a complimentary face-mask is included with admission while quantities last.

Tickets are priced at $39.50 ($44.50 Oct. 29-31) and you can find them here.
