A three-vehicle collision took place in the Fraser Valley yesterday, and involved 16 individuals, all of whom received treatment on scene or at hospitals for injuries.

The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) stated in a news release that at 6:28 a.m. on July 27, officers attended the scene of a collision in the 32500 block of Maclure Road.

A red pickup truck had been travelling westbound when it crossed the median and crashed into a transport van, which had 14 passengers aboard in the eastbound lanes.

After that, an SUV crashed into the back of the transport van.

The truck driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, all of the van passengers were treated at the scene or taken to hospital.

In addition, the SUV driver, who was the lone occupant of that vehicle, was taken to hospital.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, WorkSafe B.C., and Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement teams have all attended the scene to investigate.

Any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage is asked to contact AbbyPD.
