VanDusen’s Festival of Lights is back for another sparkly year
The VanDusen Botanical Garden is set to brighten up our darkest winter nights once again with over one million lights set up across 15 acres of outdoor space.
A beloved winter tradition, VanDusen’s Festival of Lights is a true spectacle—if for no other reason than you’ll walk around going, “Holy shit, how long—and how many people—did this take to set up?”
Aside from the sheer manpower (and uh, electric power) required, the festival, which kicks off on November 24 and runs into early January, is a whimsical way to spend a chilly night.
From light-up arches, to bright reindeer, to twinkling trees, it’s perfect for young kids, entire families, and couples who want to freshen up their Instagram feeds.
Aside from the lights, attendees can indulge in classic festive eats like fondue, mini donuts, and hot chocolate, along with a bunch of favourite local vendors including Japadog, Ay!Mamacita, and Mr. Arancino.
There will also be an on-site tent allowing people to light a candle and make a donation to Make-A-Wish Canada; donations can also be made online.
