The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival

      From February 9 to 17, the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival takes place at various Metro Vancouver venues.

      The annual, international nine-day community festival features mountain film screenings, live multimedia presentations, photography exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and other special events.

      This year, the festival will be presenting new film programs that showcase the best films in the categories of environment and culture, sports and adventure, climbing, and freeride skiing.

      Other highlights include an appearance by standup paddleboarder Chris Bertish at the SUP Adventures show on February 10 and adventurer-musician Thorin Loeks at Mountain Melodies on February 11.

      Cinephiles can catch screenings at Metro Vancouver venues like the Centennial Theatre, the Cinematheque, the Rio Theatre, the Frederic Wood Theatre, the Inlet Theatre. the Kay Meek Centre, Hollyburn Lodge, and the ROX Theatre.
