Netflix is looking to hire Canadian photographers for its Instagram account

Netflix is on the hunt for Canadian photographers who will supply images and video footage for its 22,000-plus-followers-strong Instagram feed.

In an effort to offer fans a behind-the-scenes look at how its Canadian-produced programs come together, the entertainment platform wants to send three photographers to film sets around the country to capture photographs and videos that will be featured on Netflix’s Instagram account. The contract gig, the length of which has not been revealed, will offer each photographer a “stipend determined by Netflix”.

Those interested in applying for the on-set photographer role must follow Netflix Canada on Instagram and upload three images to their public 'gram that demonstrate their photography skills with the hashtag #GrammastersNorth. (That’s a weird combo of the words Instagram and masters, to be clear, not grammar and masters.)

The contest is open until May 11. Applicants must be over the age of majority in their province of residence and a legal resident of Canada.

Ideal candidates must also be willing to “go to the end of the fucking world for the ’gram”, personally identify with the “artsy Jughead type”, and be up to travel the country—though that may not be entirely necessary for someone in Metro Vancouver, given the large number of Netflix productions that are filmed in the region.

The official photographers will be selected on June 8. Click here for full details.
