Roseanne Barr tweet leads to cancellation of her TV show

ABC Entertainment has pulled the plug on a reboot of Roseanne Barr's TV show following a racist tweet.

It came after Barr described former Barack Obama presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett as a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and a character from Planet of the Apes.

The comedian subsequently deleted the tweet and apologized on Twitter, but it wasn't enough to save her program.

So the Conner family will no longer appear on the air.

"Roseanne's Twitter satement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said, "and we have decided to cancel her show."

The news means that executive producer and costar Sara Gilbert, the rest of the cast, and the crew are also out of a job—for something they had absolutely nothing to do with.

Not surprisingly, Gilbert isn't happy about this development.

This wasn't Roseanne's first controversial comment, which has been noted by actor Travon Free and Intercept columnist Shaun King.
