Amazing Race Canada: Heroes Edition season premiere to feature B.C. locales and two B.C. teams competing

      The Amazing Race Canada will kick off its sixth season with a premiere episode of its Heroes Edition that includes B.C. among its featured locales.

      Airing at 8 p.m. (PT) tonight (July 3) on CTV, the season opener presents 10 teams competing in the adventure TV series, and will include trips to the national historic site of the Britannia Mine Museum (located between Vancouver and Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway), Squamish, and more.

      In this special Heroes Edition, the participants consist of teachers, Mounties, sailors, community volunteers, and first responders.

      Among them are two teams are from B.C.:

      • Metro Vancouver siblings Martina Seo, a 40-year-old home economics teacher, and Phil Seo, a 37-year-old banking manager, who have devoted over 10,000 volunteer hours to helping children;
      • siblings 27-year-old Courtney Callens from Langley and 25-year-old Taylor Callens from Williams Lake, who are fourth-generation RCMP officers.

      So far, no British Columbian team has won the competition yet.

      The champions will win a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse Redline, a trip around the world for two, and $250,000 cash.

      Encore presentations of Season 6 will air at 5 p.m. (PT) on Saturdays and at 7 p.m. (PT) on Sundays on CTV.
