Amazing Race Canada to head to Salt Spring Island in next episode

The sixth season of Amazing Race Canada kicked things off here in B.C. on July 3, with visits to Squamish, Britannia Mine, and more.

In the second episode on July 10, teams moved on to the Yukon where they visited Dawson City and faced challenges such as constructing a campsite, finding five gold coins in a treasure hunt, and deciding whether to play blackjack or learn the cancan.

Although Ontario's Zainab Ansari (from Toronto) and Monica Demian (from Ajax) finished last, they were spared elimination. However, they will need to complete a Speed Bump, or an additional task assigned as a penalty, in the next episode.

Encores of the July 10 episode air on July 14 and July 15 on CTV (check local listings for times).

Ontario's Zainab Ansari and Monica Demian will face an extra challenge in the next episode of Amazing Race Canada.

On the next episode, which airs on July 17 on CTV, teams head from the Yukon back to B.C., where they'll compete on Salt Spring Island.

In a CTV news release, the episode is ambiguously described thusly: "Pressure soars to new heights as racers struggle to learn the ropes, and while some teams are thrilled to have their pie and eat it too, others find it hard to stomach."

Two B.C. teams remain in the competition: Metro Vancouver volunteers and siblings Martina and Phil Seo and RCMP officers and siblings Taylor and Courtney Callens from Williams Lake and Langley.
