Any B.C. home cooks out there who think that they have what it takes to demonstrate their culinary skills at a professional level?
Here's one opportunity to prove in front of the entire country.
MasterChef Canada is heading into its sixth season, and has announced its call for applications.
The most recent season of the cooking competition series was won by Beccy Stables of Sherwood Park, Alberta, who, at age 19, became the show's youngest winner.
Production on 12 episodes for Season 6, which will air during the 2018-2019 broadcast season, will begin in Toronto in autumn. Chefs Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung, and Claudio Aprile will be returning to the show once again as judges.
The winner will take home a $100,000 cash prize and the title of MasterChef Canada.
The deadline for online applications is 11:59 p.m. ET on September 30. While an open casting call will be held in Toronto on September 30, invitation-only auditions will be held across Canada this summer so early applications are recommended.
Full details, including application forms, eligibility requirements, and facts, are available at the MasterChef Canada website.
