Comedian Shaun Majumder will no longer be delivering laughs from the satirical news desk at CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

Today (August 27), Majumder announced on his Facebook page that he won't be returning to the Canadian news parody TV series.

"Unfortunately, due to creative differences between the Halifax producers and myself, the decision for my departure was not mine," he stated.

CBC confirmed his departure from the show.

The Newfoundland-raised Majumder has been a cast member of the series since 2003.

Majumder has also started in the TV series Unhitched, Detroit 1-8-7, Republic of Doyle, and The Firm, as well as films such as Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes is scheduled to air its new season on September 18.
