A strange hall of mirrors that never quite brings its twin protagonists into full focus, this Image will still be interesting to people who care about the challenges built into documentary filmmaking and in parsing the ongoing conflicts in Northern Ireland.

MacCaig died a decade ago, and the estranged son subsequently visited his father’s Paris apartment, where he found considerable footage and other memorabilia, much of which had never been seen publicly.
