Spellman House coming to Vancouver for Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina premiere

In celebration of the premiere of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina—and just in time for Halloween—the streaming service is inviting Vancouverites to explore the Spellman House, home of the series’ titular teen character and her two witch aunts.

Cecil Green Park House (6251 Cecil Green Park Road), situated on the UBC campus, will be transformed into the spooky abode on October 27 and 28. During this time, visitors will have the chance to score “witchy” makeovers and enjoy refreshments or “potions” onsite.

Attendees may also find their “familiar”—former witches who have been turned into animals as punishment for a crime they have committed. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s famous familiar is Salem Saberhagen, a black cat that lives with Sabrina and her family.

Admission to the Spellman House is free; guests must register for one of five predetermined time slots online. However, the event is “oversold” and registration does not guarantee entrance, meaning you should probably get there as early as your scheduled time block allows.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is based on the Archie Comics of the same name. Described as “tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist”—um, yikes?—the supernatural program is a darker, moodier take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the ’90s sitcom that also drew from the comic. It stars Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, and Jaz Sinclair, and was filmed in Metro Vancouver.

The series’ first season launches on Netflix on October 26.
