In the wake of the success of the edgy adaptation of Archie Comics material as TV series Riverdale, the first season of sibling supernatural-horror series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was released during Halloween season on October 26—and both series have been shot in and around Metro Vancouver.

Production for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (which has primarily shot in the Cloverdale area in Surrey), starring Kiernan Shipka as the part-mortal, part-witch titular character, wrapped on December 5, after starting back in March. (Meanwhile, Riverdale will continue production on Season 3 until April 19.)

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina had already been greenlit for a second season, which will premiere on Netflix on April 5.

A teaser trailer for Season 2 was also recently released, featuring a nifty way to try out different ensembles that will make everyone want to practice witchcraft.

But while fans wait for that date to roll around, a holiday season special will be released on December 14 to tide viewers over.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter's Tale somehow manages to combine the cheerfulness of Christmas with the creepiness of Halloween, and will include evil Santas, séances, the Church of the Night, and more.
