Britain's Olivia Colman picks up the Oscar for Best Actress for playing Queen Anne in The Favourite
Olivia Colman delivered a somewhat zany and highly emotional speech after winning the Oscar for Best Actress.
"It's genuinely quite stressful. Uh, this is hilarious," Colman said initially.
She credited her "best director", Yorgos Lanthimos, costars "Emily" [Emily Stone] and Rachel Weisz, and her agent Lindy King.
Then she talked about how much she admired a fellow nominee and perhaps her closest competitor in this category, The Wife's Glenn Close.
"Glenn Close, you've been my idol for so long," Colman said.
Colman ended her speech by thanking others, including her mom and her husband Ed, before blowing a kiss to fellow nominee Lady Gaga
It was Colman's first Oscar.
She won a BAFTA Leading Actress Award, whereas Close won for for Outstanding Performance by a Female in a Leading Role from the Screen Actors Guild and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
