VIFF 2015: The Dinner has a solid cast and screenplay

      The Dinner (Italy)

This Italian take on Herman Koch’s unsettling bestseller retains the basic ingredients of the Dutch novel but paints the core moral and contemporary issues with a more nuanced, less chilly emotional palette.

When two brothers discover their children were captured by surveillance cameras committing an assault, the men and their wives wrestle with how to handle the situation.

A solid cast and a screenplay that improves upon the original material make this thought-provoking drama required festival viewing.
