Cormac McCarthy took all the fun out of post-civilization fantasy fiction. Director Tom Hammock makes a game effort at putting it back with this bloody, faux-spaghetti apocalypse flick, which pictures Oregon as a desert battleground for the last few drops of water. But an attenuated plot (and some very questionable logic) leaves us with a long and wearying Road populated by people with luxurious hair and far-too-neatly-trimmed beards.
