Waiting for Christopher Guest? Netflix has you covered

A mighty wind has been blowing through Netflix.

The video streaming service has dominated the entertainment landscape since embarking on its own production and original programming in 2013 with House of Cards.

Capitalizing on popular not-so-niche items like Arrested Development, Wet Hot American Summer, and Gilmore Girls has also paid off in spades, and in that vein, earlier today, the company squeaked out a teaser for the latest concoction by writer-director-actor Christopher Guest, missing in action since he took his mockumentary format to HBO in 2013 with Family Tree.

Mascots—about the "ultra-competitive world of sports mascots" (of course)—reunites Guest with regulars including Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Ed Begley, Jr., Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, and John Michael Higgins, along with Guest's Family Tree writing partner, Jim Piddock.

Following a world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Mascots comes to Netflix on October 13.
