Vancouver-based Andrew Huculiak, who is also a member of the local indie rock group We Are the City, and his brother Josh made their feature film debut with the 2014 critically acclaimed Violent, shot in Norway with dialogue in Norwegian.

The arthouse drama is about a young woman who seeks to escape smalltown life and moves to a city. While experiencing a catastrophic event, she remembers the five people who love her the most.

Despite being shot on a microbudget, the film won numerous accolades, including best B.C. and best Canadian film at the 2014 Vancouver International Film Festival.

Andrew’s sophomore effort, I’m Not a Bad Person, is about a smalltown family man charged with horrific crimes and will be set in the Canadian wilderness. It’ll be shot in Huculiak’s hometown of Peachland, B.C.

I’m Not a Bad Person will film in B.C. from August 22 to September 16.
