Numerous celebrities are either donating funds or are using their star power to raise awareness about the need to help all those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Hurricane Harvey, a category 4 storm, became the first major hurricane to hit the U.S. since 2005 and has resulted in flooding and damage in Texas. Hurricane Irma has reached category 5 intensity levels and has struck numerous areas in the Caribbean, Cuba, and Florida, resulting in widespread devastation. It is the first time on record that two hurricanes of category 4 intensity or stronger have made landfall in the U.S. within the the same year.

Beyoncé, Kevin Hart, Sandra Bullock, Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled, Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Kim Kardashian, Steve Harvey, and Demi Lovato have all been making donations to relief efforts.

The cast of a show being shot in Vancouver is particularly involved in fundraising efforts, due to their personal connections to the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Harvey.

Both of the lead actors of the fantasy-horror TV series Supernatural are from Texas: Jensen Ackles was born in Dallas while Jared Padalecki was born in San Antonio. Although Ackles and Padalecki are filming in Vancouver, both live in Austin, Texas.

Ackles' Family Business Beer Company (based in Texas) and costar Misha Collins' charity Random Acts joined with the CW to launch the Stronger Than Storms campaign that will support organizations such as Americares, the Texas Diaper Bank, the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team, and the Texas SPCA.

As of today, the campaign has raised over $400,000 in 15 days. Although the original campaign goal was to raise $50,000, the target amount has been repeatedly increased due to their efforts constantly surpassing their anticipated goals.

Meanwhile, Vancouver's Ryan Reynolds, who is currently filming Deadpool 2 in town, took to social media to encourage people to help support everyone who has been affected by the devastating hurricanes.

In keeping with his Deadpool character, he kept the posts foul-mouthed.

Dwayne Johnson, also known as the Rock, is also in Vancouver shooting the action-thriller Skyscraper.

He recorded a video on August 28, in which he talked about his and his family's experiences surviving Hurricane Andrew that hit the Bahamas and Florida in 1992.
