If you like watching movies set in the seventies, here's one to keep an eye out for.

Today saw the release of the trailer for writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming film, Licorice Pizza, which uses "Life on Mars?", a song off David Bowie's 1971 album Hunky Dory, to help drive home its seventies vibe.

Paul Thomas Anderson wrote and directed two of my favourite movies from the '90s, Boogie Nights and Magnolia, so I'm thinking maybe I'll check out Licorice Pizza when its released on November 26.

Some other things to note about Licorice Pizza:

           * It stars Cooper Hoffman, son of Anderson's constant muse Philip Seymour Hoffman.

           * It also stars Alana Haim, one of the members of the L.A. pop-rock group Haim.

          * The cast also includes Sean Penn and Tom Waits, who are awesome, as well as Bradley Cooper, who's okay I guess.

           * The title refers to a chain of record stores popular in southern California during the ’70s.

           * Maya Rudolph, best known for her work on Saturday Night Live, also appears in the film. She's been in a relationship with Anderson since 2001 and they've had four children together.
