DOXA takes Vancouver back to the drive-in May 13 to 15

      Vancouverites who pine for the halcyon days of the drive-in theatre have something to look forward to next month.

      From May 13 to 15, the DOXA Documentary Film Festival is showing seven of its movies on an outdoor screen at the PNE Amphitheatre, where carloads of up to six people can pull in and park.

      Films on display include Dead Man’s SwitchThe Gig is UpSomeone Like Me, In the Rumbling Belly of Motherland, and Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy, as well as the music documentaries Poly Styrene: I Am a Cliché and Fanny: The Right to Rock.

      Screenings will happen rain or shine, with tickets priced at $50 per carload, per film.

      Guests are asked not to leave their vehicle during screenings except for restroom access, and strict COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
