Video: Ben Lapidus ignites America's Got Talent audience with "Parmesan Cheese" song

The judges gave him four Xs...and you may be surprised by what happened next

      This evening, I spent a few mindless minutes in front of America's Got Talent. And I witnessed something I had never seen before.

      Contestant Ben Lapidus described himself as a singer-songwriter as well as a sound designer.

      And he told the judges that he was going to sing one of his original compositions.

      But the song's hook—"I always want more Parmesan but I'm embarrassed"—had Simon Cowell, Sofia Vrgara, and Howie Mandel cringing. Even the host, Terry Crews, burst out laughing.

      But Heidi Klum let him continue until even she couldn't take it any longer.

      And with that, poor Lapidus was buzzed out.

      The crowd, however, loved his performance and started chanting on his behalf.
