Simu Liu can now call himself a bona fide box-office star.

His Marvel movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, pulled in US127.6 million this weekend worldwide, obliterating all other competitors, according to Box Office Mojo.

The Toronto resident and former Kim's Convenience actor is the first superhero of Asian ancestry in the Marvel lineup. And given how well the film fared on its opening weekend, it's a safe bet that he'll star in a sequel.

In light of this, you can understand why Liu might be feeling euphoric.

So euphoric, in fact, that he did a back flip after throwing out the first pitch at a San Francisco Giants game.

"That pitch was like 500% faster in my head," Liu quipped over Twitter.
