One of the giants of Quebec's film industry is out with a new movie. And today, for the first time, it's possible for anglophones to enjoy it.

That's because the Whistler Film Festival is streaming the English-language premiere of Tu te souviendras de moi, a.k.a. You Will Remember Me

Directed by Éric Tessier, it features Rémy Girard playing a character named Edouard Beaucheman. He's a highly opinionated academic who's suffering from a form of dementia.

Girard, 70, has received more Genie Award nominations than any other actor.

Girard's screen credits include Denys Arcand's The Barbarian Invasians, in which he played the main character dying of terminal cancer. He also played the same character 17 years earlier in Arcand's The Decline of the American Empire.

As well, Girard had roles in Incendies, Love CrazyJesus of Montreal, and The Red Violin.

This year, the Whistler Film Festival is giving Girard its Career Achievement Award.

Today at 4 p.m. Pacific standard time, he'll join the festival's director of film programming, Paul Gratton, in conversation for a cross-Canada online audience.

It's part of the Whistler Film Festival Talent Talk Series.

For more information about the film and Girard's talk, visit the Whistler Film Festival website.

All of the festival's films are available to watch online across Canada until 11:59 p.m. Pacific standard time on December 31.
