Michel Rivard has been on the frontline of Quebec's music scene for five decades. The Montreal songwriter started his long career as lead singer of Beau Domage in the ‘70s and has developed a unique form of urban Francophone folk, crafting lyrics on a par with legends Gilles Vigneault and Félix Leclerc-who recorded one of his songs. Rivard comes to the Vancouver Playhouse on Wednesday (November 29) as part of the nationwide tour celebrating his 40th anniversary as a solo performer, with pop and and post-punk chanteur Mehdi Cayenne opening.
