After a doglike dry-humping, Celine Dion briefly faints when a fan gets on-stage at her Vegas show

Normally things end less than pleasantly when a fan manages to make it past security for an up-close-and-personal encounter with their favourite music star.

Ask Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, who ended up face down with three broken ribs when a drunk 48-year-old pushed him from behind mid-song in Toronto back in 2008. One minute you’re playing “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”, the next you're lying there asking what the flying fuck just happened.

Bob Dylan famously had to sit through an unplanned free-form dance explosion while performing “Love Sick” at the 1998 Grammys. Stick around and remain relevant long enough, and you too can watch a half-naked performance artist emblazoned with the words "Soy Bomb" bum-rush your show on national television. Dylan deserved added props for managing to keep a straight face while Michael Portnoy danced in a fashion that suggested a man being righteously rogered with a cactus.

A protracted tug-of-war—complete with the odd punch—ensued when a fan got on the stage to become part of the show at a Taylor Swift 1989 Tour stop in San Diego three years ago.

Action Bronson, meanwhile, proved to be a performer who takes matters into his own hands in London back in 2015. When one of his admirers bolted from the wings for a hug he received a punch from the MC, who then promptly grabbed him by the collar and flung him into the crowd.

Last weekend in Las Vegas, Céline Dion made the case that sometimes there’s a better way to deal with the folks who pay good money to not only see you, but also invade your personal space.

On January 5 a woman, who’d seemingly been into the free drinks at the casino, got past security to get up close with the Canadian superstar singer. Dion at first taps her inner Bruce Springsteen to calmly tell the woman “Let me tell you something. I’m glad you came up on-stage tonight.”

When the fan responds by lifting her leg and attempting to dry-hump the Quebec chanteuse, Dion waves security away, instead spending the next minute-and-a-half talking to her fan in front of the packed audience. Dion then watches as security finally ushers her off-stage, the singer bidding her farewell with “You promise me you’ll be careful.”

Obviously possessing a sense of humour, Dion finishes the encounter off by pretending to faint.

Somewhere Axl Rose is wondering if she needs a free lesson in crowd control.
