Don't think that rock 'n' roll and caring for animals go together? Local charity Neüterhead: Ace of Spays says not so.

Neüterhead: Ace of Spays is a registered nonprofit organization that uses rock 'n' roll to raise funds to assist responsible pet-rescue groups with the costs of spaying and neutering.

On Friday, February 2, it takes over the Rickshaw Theatre for an evening of music by cover bands AC/DC/AF (covering AC/DC), Neutered by Force (covering Scorpions), September Sangria (covering April Wine), and the Acid Eaters (covering the Ramones).

Funds will be raised through the sale of merchandise, ticket sales, and bands who have volunteered their time and energy. To date, the charity has raised over $13,500 for animal-rescue organizations that are volunteer run, nonprofit, and have a no-kill policy.

Tickets for the Neüterhead: Ace of Spays fundraising concert are $20 at the door and $15 (plus service charges and fees) in advance at Red Cat Records, Neptoon Records, and Long Live Cats and Dogs. More info can be found on the event's Facebook page and the charity's website.
