Fado sensation António Zambujo coming to West Vancouver's Kay Meek Centre

António Zambujo sings fado, Portugal’s empassioned national song-genre. But his artistic inspirations also span the Atlantic to include Brazilians João Gilberto and Caetano Veloso, as well as Chet Baker and Tom Waits.

Gifted with an unusually agile and beautiful voice, Zambujo got his big break with a major role in the musical Amália—about the life of iconic fadista Amália Rodrigues—which ran four years in Lisbon, then toured widely.

Catch one of the top singers from Portugal in the intimate setting of West Vancouver’s Kay Meek Theatre, where Zambujo and his band perform this Sunday (March 25).
