On Thursday, September 13, the Avett Brothers will play the Queen Elizabeth Theatre (630 Hamilton Street).

The Concord, North Carolina–based band has taken its signature blend of folk, rock, bluegrass, and pop from the back porch to the top of the charts. The group's most recent album, the Rick Rubin–produced True Sadness—which Interview called "the band’s most intimate and exploratory album to date"—hit #1 on Billboard’s Top Albums Chart,  #1 on the Top Rock Albums Chart, #1 on the Digital Albums Chart, and #3 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart.

The San Francisco Chronicle once described the Avett Brothers' sound as having the "heavy sadness of Townes Van Zandt, the light pop concision of Buddy Holly, the tuneful jangle of the Beatles, the raw energy of the Ramones".

The band's unbeatable energy as a live act can be seen on full display in this Late Show performance of the title track from True Sadness:

Tickets for the Avett Brothers are $79.50/$59.50 (plus service charges and fees) at Ticketmaster until September 13. Prices will increase by $5.50 on the day of the show.

Tickets are also available at the Queen Elizabeth Box Office or by calling 1-855-985-5000.
