      FRIDAY: first night of the Hyperspace Metal Festival at the Rickshaw Theatre features power- and melodic-metal music by Iron Kingdom, Arkenfire, Medevil, Apprentice, and Ophelia Falling. 

      FRIDAY: Beatles and Pink Floyd tribute bands the Day Trippers and PIGS play Ladner's Genesis Theatre.

      FRIDAY: Jason Lives! The Sequel at Hastings Mill Brewing Company features performances by Some Kinda Acronym, Caracas, and the Brass Action.

      SATURDAY: local indie-music artist Kele Fleming is joined by collaborator Ron Yamauchi and friends Sarah Wheeler and Silent Martin at the Cultch.
