Shania Twain herself sang "Don't Be Stupid" on her Come On Over album in 1997.

But this time, it's some of her fans who've questioned the Canadian country-pop star's intelligence after she told the Guardian that she would have voted for Donald Trump if she had the chance in 2016.

Naturally, the ensuing controversy has Shania backing off that ledge as quickly as possible.

Here's the four-part mea culpa that she posted on Twitter.

This has given rise to the rather predictable punchlines on Twitter about how "that don't impress me much."

"That Don't Impress Me Much" brought Shania Twain millions of new fans.
