On Our Radar: Bend Sinister shows you how to love with new single premiere

While most bands like to croon over mournful melodies about a love lost, Vancouver-based group Bend Sinister prefers to joyfully ask the world to love regardless.

Formed in 2001, Bend Sinister got its start by playing in bars and at small gigs in Kelowna. Seventeen years later, the band has three EPs and seven full-length albums under its belt. Its eighth, Foolish Games, is set for release this May, and features its newest single, “Show Me How to Love”.

The band said that the song is about reminding the listener to never forget what’s important in life, and to remember that one of those things is love. Mixing its signature indie style with pop and rock influences, the group accomplishes that goal by creating a bouncy tune with perceptive lyrics.

By its end, “Show Me How to Love” comes off as an earnest, fun, and light-hearted song with a hopeful, age-old message that many can relate to. Bonus: The song also features Danny Vacon from The Dudes, another well-known indie rock band.

“Show Me How to Love” is Bend Sinister’s first single with new independent record label, Cordova Bay Records, and is scheduled to drop this Friday (April 27). For those of you who can’t wait until then, you can take a listen below:
