TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival announces 150 free concerts

      The TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival has just announced that it will be putting on 150 free concerts this year.

      The free shows by local, national, and international artists will take place throughout the city at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church, Ironworks, and Granville Island in the afternoons--and all day on Canada Day--and at several venues on the North Shore.

      There will also be free outdoor presentations at Downtown Jazz Weekend (on the grounds of the Vancouver Art Gallery and Robson Square, June 23-24) and at David Lam Park Jazz Weekend (June 30-July 1).

      Artists performing free concerts include Red Baraat, Kevin Breit with Johnny Goldtooth and the Chevy Casonovas, Gwyneth Herbert, Alsarah & the Nubatones, Ghost Note, Maciej Obara Quartet, Tony Wilson’s Tribute to Sonny Greenwich, Wayne Horvitz Snowghost Trio with Peggy Lee, and the François Bourassa Quartet.
