With amazing tunes like “All Along The Watchtower", “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", and “Crosstown Traffic", Jimi Hendrix's 1968 Electric Ladyland was one dynamite rock record. And the fact that it was a double album didn't hurt, either.

Hendrix freaks who wore out their original vinyl copies of Electric Ladyland decades ago might want to start saving their pennies, because Sony Music announced today that it will be releasing a 50th anniversary Electric Ladyland box set on November 9.

As well as a remixed and remastered version of the original album, the six-LP deluxe edition includes Electric Ladyland: The Early Takes, featuring demos and studio outtakes, and Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At the Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68, a never-before-released recording that captures the band in concert just weeks before Electric Ladyland hit stores.

Other goodies in the box set include a Blu-ray of the feature-length documentary At Last… The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladyland, and a 48-page book containing Jimi’s handwritten lyrics and instructions to his record label, as well as never-before-published photos from the recording sessions that were shot by engineer/mixer Eddie Kramer.
