Halloween Video Countdown Day 6: Smashing Pumpkins

    1 of 2 2 of 2

Oh, hey, did you notice that Smashing Pumpkins are still a thing? It's true! And it turns out Billy Corgan and company are still making new music. In fact, this video just came out earlier this week. And the song is actually pretty good! It's kind of a pop song in the vein of "1979", although admittedly not quite as good as "1979", because, well, name a song that is as good as "1979".

Anyhow, "Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)" comes complete with a Halloween-themed video. The storyline is about the Pumpkins raising money for charity by spending a night in a haunted house or something. Actually, I found the plot impossible to follow or care about because it was introduced by way of an expository monologue by Mark McGrath. Seriously, do yourself a favour and skip the first two minutes of the video, because that's how long it takes to get to the song, and it's basically 100 percent McGrath up to that point.

To sum things up: Smashing Pumpkins good, Mark McGrath bad.
