The Georgia Straight musical advent calendar for Christmas 2018—Day Two: Happy Holidays With Bing and Frank

    1 of 2 2 of 2

If you're anything like us at the Straight, the Christmas season makes you suspect you were born in the wrong era. We're all about the classics at this time of year: Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Rosemary Clooney, Louis Prima... but most of all Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.

Okay, by some accounts they weren't actually very nice in real life, but man, they sure seem jovial and congenial enough in "Happy Holidays With Bing and Frank", a special episode of The Frank Sinatra Show that first aired on December 20, 1957. So let's just assume that this is what they were really like, all the time. Okay?

Get ready for some fine crooning, plenty of wisecracking, and, of course, lots of festive drinking. As Crosby says, "A little toddy for the body might just take the chill off."
