Charles Darwin once opined that a man's friendships are one of the best measures of his worth.
We're going to update that for modern times by adding that kind words from hordes of well-wishers on Twitter isn't a bad barometer either.
With that in mind, Dan Mangan has to be feeling pretty great on a couple of fronts this morning.
First the big one: the man known as the nicest guy on the Vancouver music scene scored big time last night by appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Mangan performed two songs on the show, one of which ("Troubled Mind") was broadcast, the other of which ("Just Fear") will make for a gold-star bonus-material bon-bon on a future Dan Mangan Live DVD.
Both songs are from his Juno-nominated latest album More Or Less.
What's been immensely cool--besides seeing one of Vancouver's favourite sons on national TV in America--is the outpouring of support for Mangan since his appearance. Fans, colleagues, and random Canadian patriots have been all over Twitter to congratulate the singer, who is now in Europe for a tour.
Here's "Troubled Mind", followed by a sampling of Tweets, followed by "Just Fear".
