On Our Radar: Offset hints that he knows a thing or two about high art with "Clout" video featuring Cardi B

As a work of art, it's incredible—like someone spent a couple of weeks studying the first 20 pages of high-fashion ads in Vogue and Vanity Fair and then used them as inspiration for a three-minute-and-33-second video.

"Clout" showcases Migos member Offset, who clearly knows a little something about the world of Italian design houses and Paris catwalks. The man born Kiari Kendrell Cephus has, after all, modelled for Gosha Rubchinskiy and Lavati. And you might recall that Migos' debut single was titled "Versace", the video for which had him walking the halls of a Lifestyles of the Stupidly Rich and Famous mansion, decked out in clothes most of us will only ever see in the pages of Vanity Fair and Vogue

So artistic and classy is "Clout", that it's almost like it was designed to leave the common rabble wondering what Offset is trying to say.

Is the Daniel Russell-directed clip, through its heavy reliance on a black and yellow colour scheme, a cleverly subversive homage to the hard-working and fearless insect known as the yellowjacket wasp, or perhaps a nod to the rock-star magnetism of Bumblebee from the Transformers movies?

Is Offset--as hinted by his wearing of a striking black-and-white facemask at times--one of those people who goes through life with the attidude that every goddamn day is Halloween?

And can we extrapolate from the appearance of Cardi B that all is well between the two mega-celebrities--who announced that they were splitting up last December just weeks after giving birth to a baby of their own making? Then again, maybe there's a soured-on-life reason that Cardi B is at one point seen buried in a head-to-toe pyramid of lemons.

Feel free to bring your own reading to the table. But don't deny that the video for "Clout" is the most art-house gorgeous thing you'll see this week. Unless you happen to subscribe to Vogue or Vanity Fair.
