Intimate Conversations with Nick Cave brings the Australian icon to New West's Massey Theatre on October 10

As anyone who has caught Nick Cave in concert in Vancouver knows full well, the Australian alternative legend does not put on shows so much as full-blown exorcisms. Appearances at the Vogue, Orpheum, and Queen Elizabeth Theatre have been as carthartic as they are mesmerizing.

This fall, the multitalented icon will bring a different kind of experience to the Lower Mainland.

On October 10, New Westminster's Massey Theatre will host Conversations With Nick Cave. As one might infer from the title, the evening will have audience members asking the singer, author, actor, and screenwriter whatever questions they can think up. Cave will answer those queries in what he has described as a “an exercise in connectivity”--the 61-year-old coaxing on fans with the guidelines that no subject is sacred, and that boldness and being challenging is encouraged.

Tickets will range from $59.50 to $99.50 plus service charges, and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific on Friday (May (10). Those tickets are available at www.nickcave.com. Tickets can also be purchased at ticketstonight.ca and the Massey Theatre Box Office. (Go here for more info).

The first Conversations With Nick Cave shows in Oz and New Zealand were sell-outs that received rave reviews. The Guardian wrote, "It’s about being present, knowable, vulnerable and real."

A Blank Gold Coast review meanwhile weighed in with "The warm, funny, honest, friendly guy onstage has just spent three hours respectfully answering as many unfiltered questions from the audience as he can. His answers have been devoid of cynicism and judgement, and many have been laugh-out-loud funny."

Conversations With Nick Cave will head to Europe for a string of sold-out shows in the spring and summer before heading to North America in the fall.
