For jazz fans, Granville Island is the place to be on Canada Day

      If you're new to Vancouver or you're a tourist passing through town today, you may not be aware of one of the more imaginative Canada Day celebrations in the country.

      From noon until 9:30 p.m., the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival is offering a daylong series of free concerts on three stages at Granville Island.

      The full lineup is available here.

      The first three concerts at noon are:

      * Benoît Delbecq François Houle Duo at Performance Works;

      * Shannon Scott at Ron Basford Park;

      * Black Top Blues Band at the Granville Island Public Market.

      The final act of the evening will be the Company B Jazz Band at Performance Works at 9:30 p.m.

      Today marks the final day of Vancouver's annual jazz festival.

      The annual Canada Day parade also takes place on Granville Island today, starting at 1:30 p.m.

      It begins at Ocean Concrete and winds up at Ron Basford Park.
