For jazz fans, Granville Island is the place to be on Canada Day
If you're new to Vancouver or you're a tourist passing through town today, you may not be aware of one of the more imaginative Canada Day celebrations in the country.
From noon until 9:30 p.m., the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival is offering a daylong series of free concerts on three stages at Granville Island.
The full lineup is available here.
The first three concerts at noon are:
* Benoît Delbecq François Houle Duo at Performance Works;
* Shannon Scott at Ron Basford Park;
* Black Top Blues Band at the Granville Island Public Market.
The final act of the evening will be the Company B Jazz Band at Performance Works at 9:30 p.m.
Today marks the final day of Vancouver's annual jazz festival.
The annual Canada Day parade also takes place on Granville Island today, starting at 1:30 p.m.
It begins at Ocean Concrete and winds up at Ron Basford Park.
