If you’re a B.C. music act looking to break into new markets or have your songs included in movies, TV shows, or commercials, a local film festival is providing an opportunity to do so.

The Whistler Film Festival is looking for a range of musical acts to perform at its fifth annual WFF Music Showcase, which will be held during the 2019 festival on December 6 and 7.

Up to 10 acts will be chosen from submitted applications.

Finalists will perform a live 30-minute set for an audience that will include music supervisors, filmmakers and screen-industry professionals, and filmgoers.

The selected artists will also be able to meet one-on-one with international music and film executives and delegates.

Last year’s roster of performers included Marble Canyon, Adera, Old Soul Rebel, At Mission Dolores, Small Town Artillery, and Snotty Nose Rez Kids.

The application deadline is at 5 p.m. on October 25. Full details are available online at the WFF website.

This year's Whister Film Festival will be held from December 4 to 8.
