On Our Radar: Did You Die takes us on a ride in video for cover of Suzanne Vega’s “Left of Center”

Did You Die has been a on a real nostalgic kick lately. Last month the Victoria-based indie rockers released an EP of (mostly '80s) covers called Postcards From Paradise. And now the band has issued a video for one of the EP's tracks, a Suzanne Vega song called "Left of Center".

The video follows a young couple as they seemingly fall in love amid the carousels and tilt-a-whirls of an amusement park. If this were a John Hughes movie, this scene might take place right before the one in which she realizes that his only real loyalty is to his rich jock friends, and that the true love she has been looking for has been right in front of her all along. (True '80s nostalgists will recall that the original version of "Left of Center" was, in fact, featured in a John Hughes movie, specifically Pretty in Pink.)

In other Did You Die news, the band recently announced that it will be performing at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, in March. Other B.C. artists showcasing at SXSW include ACTORS, Dan Mangan, Frankiie, Art D'Ecco, Necking, Wire Spine, Devours, Neck of the Woods, and Snotty Nose Rez Kids.
